Marathon Acquires August Systems

 

MARATHON BUILDING ENVIRONMENTS ACQUIRES
COLUMBIA, MISSOURI BASED AUGUST SYSTEMS

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Frank Sovich and Greg Wolff, owners of Marathon Building Environments, announced today that they have completed the purchase of August Systems from Bridgid Miller of Columbia, and will operate the ongoing business as a division of Marathon. Terms of the sale were not disclosed. Miller, who has owned August Systems for more than 14 years, will serve as the director of the new division. The division will continue to be known as August Systems, primarily due to its long-standing reputation for quality and service in the mid-Missouri area.

August Systems will continue to carry the full line of residential audio, video, security and climate control products that it has specialized in previously, and will expand its offerings to include commercial sound and video applications and the popular Crestron control systems for business. August Systems plans to move its entire operation to the main Marathon headquarters at 1715 Paris Road in Columbia beginning this month. All current employees of August Systems will be included in the move and will continue to provide services for the new division.

"As Marathon’s client base has grown during the past several years, we have been asked to provide an increasing variety of services relating to the complete business environment," said Sovich. "The addition of August Systems will help us meet our clients needs on a new level and will allow us to provide complete sound, video and control solutions on an in-house basis," added Sovich.

"When we originally launched Marathon Building Environments back in 1987 our plan was to continue expansion into profitable lines that would complement our base operation," said Wolff. "We are excited that the circumstances and timing were right for us to be able to complete this deal and look forward to working directly with Brigid and her team of professionals," Wolff added.
